Her creative classes infuse the universal energy of the day with inspiration sought from the Mayan calendar. She creates safe opportunities to practice yoga using a variety of props to lengthen, strengthen & restore the body.
She was drawn to the practice of yoga after years of suffering from chronic low back, shoulder  & TMJ pain. She found that the inclusion of a consistent yoga practice in her life diminished her symptoms until they eventually disappeared.  As a consequence of her personal transformation, she  embarked on her journey of professional healing.
She has studied with many teachers including certifications with Allaine Stricklen, (300 hours – Gentle Therapeutics) Edwin Bergman, (200 hours- YogaWorks) Ken Von Roenn III (200 hours- Skanda Yoga), Jordan Bloom, (100 hours – Anusara Immersion)
She has also dedicated many hours of practice with John Friend,  Christy Nones-McKenzie, Ganesha, (50 hours -Sacred Embodiment- Subtle Body Energy & Kundalini Yoga), Master Gyrotonic Trainers, Mige Germann, (50 hour Gyrokenesis Pre-Training) Jackson Kellogg & Arash Dastranj-Sedghi, & Elise Browning Miller.

Mid-life has taught Alissa that you do not need to have a “flexy-bendy” body to begin & progress. The benefits of yoga come with a daily practice, including meditation (calming the mind) & remembering that every day brings new possibilities & opportunities.
She works with private & corporate clients, holds workshops, & offers classes weekly at various yoga studios including her private studio in Miami Beach. Alissa is a a life long resident of Miami Beach. She earned her BA in Early Childhood Education & Art History as well as her MAEd in Early Childhood & Special Education from Washington University in St. Louis.
